At a tipping point

Geopolitics is by far the hottest topic in current world affairs and Eurasia Group’s fresh report Top Risks 2024 addresses the key challenges: Israel vs. Hamas, Russia vs. Ukraine and notably US vs. itself.

It was such a privilege for me to moderate a session at The Conduit in Oslo together with Eurasia Group recently to investigate how we can navigate in this war and conflict ridden world - and how we may collaborate to rebuild trust and humanity.

These are defining moments in history, we seem to be at a tipping point. This is also why it is so essential to learn from the best experts and to listen to those who have real life experiences in conflict areas.

The Conduit in Oslo offers an openhearted and wonderfully warm space in a very difficult time, where we all share a deep concern for the people suffering in Gaza, in Ukraine and other conflict zones.

In my opinion, The Top Risks 2024 report also lives up to Eurasia Group’s reputation for excellence in geopolitical analytics, but I must add: it’s a tough and thought provoking read. Thanks so much to the brilliant Amund Vik and to our amazing panel of sharp speakers who gave us valuable insight and inspired changemakers to act: Ole Jacob Sending, Thina Saltvedt, Fredrik Græsvik, Jan Egeland, Tore O. Sandvik. And tribute to Dilek Ayhan and Paul van Zyl for making this important event come alive.
